I picked mine up for $30 not too long ago, however $50-$80 is what they seem to sell at, even more so if you live in the states, as they were not released there, they demand a slightly higher price.

I thought we did get the SMS2 here in the states? I've seen 'em around before? (In fact, Mechblue hosed me out of one without knowing, which is why I give him such a hard time all of the time)

They were released in the states. They were gray instead of the black version that other regions got.emwearz wrote:I picked mine up for $30 not too long ago, however $50-$80 is what they seem to sell at, even more so if you live in the states, as they were not released there, they demand a slightly higher price.
I dunno, 70-80 seems a bit too rich for this system. Found an ebay auction from Feb 29th and it sold for only $30. One with a TON of games sold for over 100 and a PAL unit sold for only $13.
I know they are harder to get than the standard unit but the price doesn't seem to be there yet. I'm guessing as the system gets more and more collectable (and people learn the system II exists) it'll get spendy.

You guys are right, it seems it sold really poorly though.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It was released right when the genesis was in full run, I have no idea why they thought to bring back the master system... they already had the power base converter...emwearz wrote:You guys are right, it seems it sold really poorly though.

AFAIK, the SMSII was not released in Japan. I just thought I'd throw that out there! Neither was the Sega CDX or the Nomad, for the record.

Sales thread. Make offers! PC Engine and Famicom: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 17#p197217.

Sounds like we need a "What was Sega Thinking?!" thread so we don't continue to hijack this one.BoringSupreez wrote:Remember a little thing called the Genesis 2?

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
it would be $70 for the system only... I have yet to find another auction at anything close to that price.
