Flea Market Almost...

Post by SpaceBooger »

Imagine this:
NES
4 Standard Controlers
NES Advantage
NES Satellite
Wireless 3rd Party Light Gun
6 Games including Excitebike

all for $20

Now here is the almost part. As my wife and I were walking through the market I spotted a guy holding/inspecting a NES, so I walked over. As I approached I heard the seller tell him the whole box of stuff was $20... so I waited and pretended to look at some other stuff. As soon as he set it down I began looking through the box to see what was in it, at that time I only knew the NES was in it. As I pick the box up to purchase it, the guy who was looking before me looked at me and quickly pulled out a twenty and handed it to the guy while telling me "I'm buying that."

I was pissed but what could I do he handed the dude a twenty as soon as I picked up the box and "then" announced what he puchased so that I could not counter offer.... If only I was a minute earlier...

Bullshit, he should have picked up the box and taken it to the seller if he wanted to buy it. By walking away from it and attempting to purchase it while you already had the box in your hands was a dick move and I would've said something.

Man I wouldn't have handed him the box back ever!! You should have countered offered him for $30 but seems you are a nice guy. :D

It's a flea market, haggle.

If you were willing to go 25, I would of said, "well I'll give the guy 25 bucks". This isn't JC Penny, the seller decides when its first come first serve.

I would have haggled but was caught off guard once the seller pocketed the money not knowing exactly what it was for, as he was also caught off guard.

That's the kind of stuff I've seen fights start over at flea markets...

Tough break, with things like this though as Racket said you'll find another good bargain down the road so don't worry about it too much.
