Saturn Translations?

Post by Spyke »

Hi,

Very silly question here...

Ok, so I got my Japanese Saturn console, and I've fired it up with the stepdown adapter so it doesn't fry... and it all works nice (no games yet) but ... excuse my obvious stupidity... it's all in Japanese!

Well, Duh I hear you say! LOL

I suppose I kind of expected everything to be in English. So is there a site where it shows what the various introduction screens are saying/asking for? I've managed to put the date and time in, but even then I don't know what options I'm clicking at the end of the process.

Also, having inserted the memory cartridge, should it show some notification of it being inserted? How can I tell if it's inserted properly and being recognised?

With thanks for any help you can offer,

you could try pulling out the system backup battery so that the system settings get reset. I'm pretty sure whenever my US Saturn gets reset the first thing it asks me when I power on is to select a language. Japanese is definitely an option. Maybe on a Japanese Saturn it will have an English option?

Thanks! That worked - though I had to experiment to find the "options" screen. All sorted now though!
