Wait, are you seriously going after King's Knight, or the slightly better Dragon Strike?o.pwuaioc wrote:Thanks for the recommendation. Time to find it now.
(Also, almost pulled the trigger on the US Recca repro, but they're down to only imperfects. I bet the manual has that "just-new" smell too.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

I already own King's Knight, so yes, I'll go after Dragon Strike. Got a copy you wanna sell for cheap?pakopako wrote:Wait, are you seriously going after King's Knight, or the slightly better Dragon Strike?o.pwuaioc wrote:Thanks for the recommendation. Time to find it now.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

For me...Crisis Force is the most impressive shmup on the NES/Famicom. It was just so ahead if its time in terms of graphics, gameplay, and even in the music department. LOVE that game!

I played a lot of 1942 and 1943 growing up. They were the only shmups I had for the NES. 1943 is definitely the better of the two.

Star Soldier, overall look it's so simple, but trying to beat this game. it's so very difficult.

Indeed! It gets a bit easier if you have an Advantage though. The turbo button is a lifesaver, and the game responds, as usual, amazingly well to the joystick. I think I played 5 minutes of it without a joystick before I plugged in the Advantage, and I have not looked back.rantz97 wrote:Star Soldier, overall look it's so simple, but trying to beat this game. it's so very difficult.

This would be the place to say I'm sad Capcom didn't pick up Exed Exes for a NES release. However, the Famicom port is very minimalistic and graphically could not handle the original. Plus, Micronics did the porting, and we all know how that goes.
