If you can, buy it while it's still available!

Funny thing is I don't have my original Nintendo - I play a repro Famicom game, in the form of an NES cart, on my Famicom console via NES adapter

This is relevant, and I wish I had remembered this thread before starting a discussion in that one.

Anyway, has anyone besides ExedExes played King's Knight?

I wasn't a huge fan of shmups until the 16-bit era, but I do like me some Gradius and Life Force. Oh, and Gunnac was pretty darn snazzy too, but came out as the SNES was heading our way, so many didn't take notice of it out our way.

I was actually surprised to find out this was a strategy/shoot'em up when I had it.Need to get it back since Im into the genre now. :)
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

It's amazing and in some aspects, refreshing. You just didn't see a fantasy/RPG themed "shmup" back in 1989

What a hidden gem on the NES!

I just read through this thread again and sadly there is no mention of Section Z. That game was rad. Plus it had some of the best music on the NES.

You poor poor bastard. That game... well... The individual stages are decent for their time, but the end was just a royal cluster-job. I enjoyed Dragon Strike, as monotonous as that was, better.

Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

That's only because I'd enjoy the arcade version much more than the NES. But playthroughs on YouTube and a recently unearthed detailed map of the game are making it a bit more appealing.

This is a game that needs a bit more recognition. I had fun with Dragonstrike, and not knowing it was a game from the sometimes good/bad AD&D NES series until much later.

Loved those kinda goofy mission screens too. May the winds be at your back always.

Thanks for the recommendation. Time to find it now. :D
