I just realized that KotOR 2 is my most valuable game (price wise). Due to licensing issues and The Old Republic, it'll probably never get a re-release... But my sister spoiled the plot twist in the first one so I've never finished it or played the second one.

Guess it depends on the platform. The PC version is cheap.

Yes, and I have the Xbox one..... Like I said, I've never had cause to play it so the discs are flawless.

I wish that one was on Steam, but maybe the licensing issues are there as well?

I kinda doubt it, since Lucasarts was the publisher for both, and would be the company granting the Star Wars license. It'd be odd if it was an engine licensing things, since KoTOR uses the Odyssey engine as well. If a matter of an Obsidian developed game using it, NWN2 uses the next version of Bioware's engine and is available on Steam.

Really not sure where there'd be a licensing problem. More likely is the general fact that KoTOR 2 was rushed and has quality issues both in included content and actual ability to run. Making it available means supporting it.

It is a programming issue I'm sure. KOTOR2 was/is super buggy and it isn't easy to get it to run on Windows 7.

Plus there is a game breaking bug that they never patched that is a few hours in. The game gets stuck and you can't move on.
