Am I alone in this?
How can you NOT look at what your opponent is doing when you are sharing the same screen? By using the same kind of blinders as horses? You cant just order your brain to tunnel vision with mathematical precision.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I don't see it as cheating. In fact; if you have the wherewithal to look at your opponents' screens, know where they are, and maintain control of your own character, that's just playing the game, if you're skilled enough to do so. I know my friends claimed I was cheating at Goldeneye, because they said they couldn't concentrate on their own screen while looking at others'.

Definitely split-screen. Maybe it's nostalgia warping my opinion, but I don't think so. The best fun I've ever had was during split-screen gaming with my friends. Games like Mario Party, Bomberman, Mario Kart 64, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Buck Bumble... The best fun I've ever had gaming was split-screen sessions with my friends. Lan party's are fun, too. But they don't have that same feel to them. I've had some fun playing online multiplayer, but it doesn't compare to the fun I've had in split-screen. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone that likes split-screen gaming these days. It's either LAN, Online, or "Fuck that".
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

The worst thing was being accused of "screen cheating" when you weren't even doing so. Still, fun times were (are) had.

My friends that I splitscreened with always called it cheating for taking away that moment of "Where is he, where'd he go?" when you were playing. We were really competetive...

It's "cheating", but it's not. But it is.

But it's not.
