While the Jumping physics are ridiculous, there is some use to them. But dodging isn't really one of them. As said before, there are plenty of jumping attacks that one should use if they wish to master the game.

On a side note, Jumping out of the ring after defeating your enemy is the best part of this game. Or am I the only one that does that?

I remember the first time I tried the game in the arcade. The jumping is ridiculous. Later Capcom games took it even further to the extreme with being able to jump up multiple screen heights and fight in mid-air, but Virtua Fighter was just laughable.

Between that and the "ring out", it was unplayable for me.
