Gamestop Game Finds

Impossible Mission - $2.99 Gamestop
http://www.gamestop.com/wii/games/impos ... sion/77166
No not Mission Impossible, but the remake of the Commodore 64 game. The game has both an upgraded remake and the original C64 game on the disc. Old Retro platforming using the DPad Remote and puzzle solving with the Remote pointer. Disappointed the voice is not the exact scratchy original, but the dialog is the same, "Stay A While, Stay Forever!" The manual has an interesting history of EPYX, but no mention of their micro switch joystick or EPYX's greatest achievement, the C64 Fastload.

Review and EPYX History back at my Wii Thread.

Probably the worse cover ever made for the Wii, but what GBA game cart is the Spy staring at?

Boulder Dash EX - $2.99 67¢
I had this game transfered in from another store, surprised of the price drop! Another C64 game, both a remake and the classic. The classic is a perfect version of the C64, Rockford jumps across exactly. The boulders will sometimes fall when brushed by on the sides, just like the original game.

I double checked my receipt, sure enough the employee was kind enough to give me a discount. A very good deal considering the game was shipped from another store. Strange, verifying back online shows the original price. I went back the next day and found out something of interest.

GBA games at 75% off at Gamestop.
Make that 85% Off with a Power Rewards card. The pickings are slim at this stage, but some Gamestops still have a few games. In addition, just maybe an employee can transfer a game in, I got lucky with getting Boulder Dash EX shipped in. I went nuts and hit a few local Gamestops. Found lot of meh carts, but I think I did pretty well. And away we go, now go get some for yourself! :D

Denki Blocks - $2.99 67¢
Never even heard of this game, mix Tetris and Polarium, an addicting game.

DS Rumble Pack - 89¢
I only have one DS game and no DS. I bought DS Geometry Wars a while back to sync with the Wii Geometry Wars and unlock a level. I had to borrow my brother in law's DS to do that, maybe I am almost ready to finally get a DS Lite? I still like the GBA better for the portability.

Dr Sudoku - $2.99 67¢
Gaaah I was never good at this math game. Ah well, for the collection.

Egg Mania - $2.99 67¢
Another Tetris puzzle, but this time stack the blocks to get to the top. Anyone ever play Gussun Oyoyo by Banpresto on the SNES? This is not as good as the Japanese classic but a similar concept.

Hardcore Pinball $3.99 90¢
I had no idea on this game, and got a very nice surprise. Four pinball games with the same style as Pinball Dreams, a huge scrolling playfield.

Kim Possible 2 $4.99 $1.13
I don't care if it has a Disney logo, the Kim Possible PS2 and GBA games are very very well done. Really a good platformer.

Millipede/SuperBreakout/LunarLander - $2.99 67¢
Three classic Atari Arcade games. I am surprised how well Lunar Lander with the various Inertia controls is executed.

Sega Smash Pack $1.99 45¢
Three genesis games. Ecco Dolphin, Golden Axe and Sonic Spinball. I never noticed how the 3D affect of Ecco was on the Genesis thru emulation. On the GBA the foreground moves different from the background, looks like a 3D postcard.

Tringo - $2.99 67¢
Yet another Tetris variant. This time place Tetris shapes right on the field, and squares get eliminated. I think I have enough Tetris games on the GBA covered.

GBA games have the added capability of playing on the HDTV with a GBA player!

Mortal Kombat Tin Case (No game) - FREE Gamestop
Disappointed the discs could not be found. Nice that the employee let me have the tin case and manual for free! I bought Mortal Kombat Deception Special Edition from noise a while back, maybe I should hunt this game down too? Anyone ever play Mortal Kombat Armagedon, in particular watched the bonus Fatalities Disc?

I believe that version of the rumble pak is only compatible with the original DS... I think there's a rumble pak revision for DS Lite's.

Isn't it only a size issue though? If you have a GBA Action Replay for whatever reason, you *should* still be able to use it though the Gene- I mean, uh... GBA tower of power.

I HATED using GBA carts with my DS Lite. Made an already uncomfortable system just that much worse.

Agreed. Original DS is the best, the bumpers are the best I've ever used.

God, I missed these boxes... For those of you that have never heard of it, think Demon's Souls meets Dark Messiah.

^^^ I do kinda miss those oversized '90s PC boxes. They are a pain to store or display, but they look so nice!
