Taxi Driver
Gritty '70s movie; loved it. I saw it because it was in the library, and it's on IMDB's Top 250 list. I've been using that list lately to see movies I might not otherwise think of.

That was awesome. Didn't it get redone by Americans?LimeRetro wrote:Låt den rätte komma in / Let the right one in.
I watched Lion King and Finding Nemo with my daughter over the last 2 days. I was craving a bit of Lion King on the Mega Drive as a result. I can remember getting to at least the stampede as a kid. Now I can't even get past the Elephant Graveyard! Anyway, good movie, fun game.

Highly suggest this to any retro and arcade gamer. Meaning, all of you. It's only fifty minutes. Go watch it.
Any ways to circunvent that?

I bought this as soon as it was released, mostly to show to friends. I still laugh when I even think about the Native American who said concerning the bears and Timothy, "I don't know. I think they leave him alone because they think he's retarded or something".OldSchool_Boy wrote: I agree that it was a matter of time. The guy was very delusional and all but he sure was dedicated.
Not sure how others feel on the subject, but personally I think Treadwell was an asshole. He ended up getting himself, his girlfriend, and two (or was it three?) bears killed. He knew sooner or later an attack would happen, and that it would also cost the animal its life. I do agree with the Native American who said "He doesn't respect bears. He doesn't see them as bears. He sees them as humans dressed like bears". But I don't believe Treadwell was so delusional that he didn't understand the consequences of his actions. I think killing the bears was unnecessary as well.
And not to be morbid, but I do want to listen to the audio.

To reiterate a post I wrote weeks ago, don't see A Thousand Words. Pretend it never happened. I'm trying to.

Don't remind me. I've missed out on a chance to see it on IFC. Unfortunately, it was no loss since it was 4:3 Pan and Scan and IFC now does programming breaks.BoringSupreez wrote:Taxi Driver

Maybe I'll just break down and rent it on my Xbox 360.

Goodfellas
I think it was nearly as good as The Godfather, if not just as. Great acting, great story, great atmosphere. I loved the way it took place in four different decades. It made me realize something: it must have been quite a culture shock to grow up in the '50s or before and live to see the '80s and beyond.

Watched AMERICAN BEAUTY last night.
I remember watching it as soon as it was released, and really enjoying it. Last night, I couldn't stop laughing at how silly the entire movie is. I hope that was the movie's original intention. Even the parts that I think are intended to be serious are pretty laughable.
At points the story was so dumb I almost just turned it off. But as a movie, it works. It deserves all of its acclaims and awards, it's just that I can't take the movie seriously for a second.
Great movie, just not for me.
