Holy smokes! Keiji Inafune has returned with his team to make a new sequel in the original MegaMan series. This game will be a WiiWare download, as it is a new title. However, it is in fact, a brand new NES game! Using the sprites and control setup that made the original six titles legendary, the development team had brought MegaMan back from the brink of obscurity. I cannot wait for this game, and words simply cannot describe the feeling this gives me. Here is a link to some more information:

I'm still a little skeptical about the NES sprites thing.
Somehow I find it hard to believe that Capcom will go to that much of an extreme of making it "old-school".

I thought the same thing when I saw it, but it appears to be true. It's weird, man! I'm wondering if they might toss in some kind of flashy effects around all the 8-bit sprites. Capcom is really pushing what's happening in the downloadable space.racketboy wrote:I'm still a little skeptical about the NES sprites thing.

Capcom is no doubt my favorite game-makin' corp, I think they can pull this off. It better end up on PC, or at least XBLA. I just got rid of my Wii, I'm going to have to make some new profanities if that's the only system it goes on.
Though I find it kind of surprising they didn't do 2.5D like X8 and the PSP games, I guess they FINALLY realized some genres work best with good 'ol 2D sprites.

I already saw the NP, but I'm waiting to see some bigger screenshots or video of the thing...LoneCynic wrote:Believe it brother, I got the new issue of Nintendo Power today and it is indeed true. Complete with screen shots and a full interviw with Keiji Inafune. This is retro gaming gold, I grew up playing these games, and this is the next sequel I always dreamed of. I cannot wait to give it a whirl.
