This is why (in addition to the fact that they're fun to play) I collect video games as opposed to other common hobby collections; my fellow collectors are almost always cool and encouraging rather than degrading and rude. I was a bit nervous about posting picture of my collection when I get home next week after seeing some of the awesome collections here, but that post was the bit of encouragement I needed. Look for my post Friday or Saturday!wclem wrote:It has taken me years to get to this point and I have a long ways to go. A lot of those Saturn games on that rack are clunkers I keep mainly for the spare cases. The better ones are scattered here and there with other groups. Also a few were not pictured.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Ha. I feel my single shelf of games is pretty impressive. Then I see people with hundreds of games and feel slightly inferior.
Dont think any less of your own collections. Be it one game or 5000 everyone should be proud of any collection they put effort into. You should be as proud of yours as I am of mine. This is a hobby we share with each other and no collection is better than any other. What is important is what we as collectors share.

Well, I'm floored. The time it must have taken to collect it all...
Game wise, are you collecting everything or just what interests you?

Re: Wclem game "home"
How long have you been collecting?
Re: Wclem game "home"
I have been collecting for about 10 years total. Though due to certain things about 5 years ago had to liquidate it. So what you are really seeing is about 4 years of me and my wife collecting together.
She puts as much effort into it as I do. She does the checklist and about half of the cleaning. This is the product of a lot of work garage sales, thrift store, forums like the one we have here and a little bit of Ebay and Amazon. We dont do a lot of things like bars or fancy restaurants, or fancy clothes and cars. This is our vice, our addiction.
I am gonna do a thorough picture and video presentation at some point. It is hard to do though because I am always adding to this. We collect for most consoles except the current generation. We do have current games but they are not organized or on any special checklists. We are 560 games into the Genesis set and over 600 into the NES set. We have also completed the N64 set. They are set in rows behind rows due to the space they need.
Thanks for all of the compliments guys (and gals as I have learned).

Does that room have like 18 walls?
Either way, amazing amount of content, but imagine how beautiful it would all look with consistent shelving, droooool. . . .

All of the furniture are also "finds" thus the randomness of it. Picture a four wall room with 2 big entertainment centers back to back in the center. That is how the multi wall effect happens.Jrecee wrote:Does that room have like 18 walls?

I must admit, all of my furniture other than my bed is second hand. Well, my TV also was bought new.
