The only two forums I post constantly at are this one and NintendoAge which I think is great.

I also do some lurking around Sega16 and Destructoid.

This is the forum where I am most active. In fact, this is the most active I've ever been in ANY web community. This place rocks, and you don't get the elitism and immaturity that most other gaming forums are plagued with.

I recently joined some Nintendo-based forum called Nintendoland. It seems pretty new, with a budding community. It looks promising, but it lacks the general maturity level of these forums. I appreciate some of the fanboyism of the Nintendo culture there, although the fact that the site encourages fan fiction irks me a bit. (I've considered writing an pornographic bestiality short story between Bowser and Princess Peach just to gauge the people's reactions. HA!)

I also participate in a local music-oriented forum called Told by an Idiot, where local bands promote shows and stuff, but it's on a slow decline lately since everyone is getting older, getting real jobs, and having kids and stuff. I miss my early 20's... :(

IMJ wrote:I checked out DigiPress and only a few posts in I'm thinking that might be the forum where all of the "I got beat up in high school and I'm a straight up dork" gamers go to post. Sorry but after some basic responses there to stuff I find myself classifying those cats into the same category as this OCD, fat, obnoxious mouth breathing, moron with a body ticking problem that I used to work with at FuncoLand when I was like 19.

Much better off here. Sorry I even started this thread, LMFAO!!

On the other hand, if the majority of gamers nowadays actually are that guy, maybe it's time for me to pack it in completely with this stuff rather than possibly drawing myself in more. heh heh....
Yeah, it's quite interesting how even though we cover most of the same topics, the forums have different personalities :)

The only game forums I post at are racketboy and cheapassgamer. I don't mind the Segacentricity so much. I never had a Sega system when I was a kid so I appreciate catching up. Keep it up, racketboy!

This is the only forum that I 'frequent'. Although you can hardly say frequent as I have been spending the last few hours reviewing what I have missed over the June period.

I don't really have the time for forums and even if I did they still annoy me (this one too in places).

I study linguistics and stuff like that and what I have realized about forum activity is that without the lack of visual and aurual clues (body language, intonation etc.) it can be very difficult to communicate what you want to say and then for that to be interpreted correctly. This is what leads to a lot of unecessary(damn it's late) forum bickering and arguements; misinterpretation. So I just find it so frustrating.

I also blog and the blogging community are a little more concious of these issues. I think that bloggers are also much more interested in generating good discussion so I usually do most of my gaming conversation there.

I'm active here and at NeoGAF. I finally got into GAF after several months of waiting back in February. It's pretty interesting over there, but it is a "typical" message board where smart-ass comments are the norm and people can be pissy. But I think I only notice that so much because that kind of stuff is totally absent here, and I've been active here for about a year now.

Just here, really don't have time for more forums. I don't feel it is that much sega biased, yes its preferred and a lot is saturn and dreamcast but for me its more retro oriented.
