Hi, RNG here!
If you need any help with specific sections and don't have a shmups forum account I would be very glad to provide advice.

Only got one tech, and one gold pot.
I realized today that killing enemies is less important than slowly herding bullets, since when you get to the other side, even if there are like 7 enemies, a dragon attack will kill them all. I had been moving around the screen too much for my own good, and making the game much harder.
I love how aggressive and fast this game is. Really a rush.

Yeah, it's a good idea in general to wait for enemies to clump up. Dragonshooting constantly can be a bad idea since you have a good chance of ending up on the wrong side of the screen with the dragon out when a dangerous enemy spawns. I had to learn this rather painfully when trying to relearn Rob for survival purposes - you have to be economical with dragonshots. It requires a lot of planning especially if you want to score high.
Learning enemy paths, maybe by trying a pacifist run, is very helpful.

Geez ^. I take 2 days to move up 20K and you do 200K in an hour.
I'm trying a bit of everything right now - still feeling it out. I go back and forth going for techs - I seem to lose a life or get the tech bonus at a 1-to-1 ratio currently, and not sure the 20K is worth it.
I'm starting to release (and not call back) my dragon during particularly bullet-crazy patterns as it is easier to dodge w/just the rider.
I'm seeing lot of improvement - but still have a lot of work to go. I think Rob is a win if going for a 1cc - but he is too slow to recover back on falling medals. His charged-shot recharges so quickly and is so big - I often get out of jams from that unexpectedly. I think I should main Ian or Quaid for scoring purposes though.
In the past 3 days I was hitting 1-5 at around 240-250K and now i'm hitting stage 1-3 boss at around 280K. Not legendary - but a lot of improvement with room for much more.
Edit: better score next post

Oh yeah, totally forgot there were charged shots in this game, haven't used that once. Lol.
I am only getting boss techs because I am bombing right before they open up. I figure, its worth the bomb.
