The gamecube version it's not a remake it's just a port. The Code Veronica, RE3 and RE2 versions of the gamecube didn't sell so well (i guess).harper wrote:Why is it so damn expensive?J T wrote:Redfield_Lynch wrote:RE2... to this day one of my dreams would be to have a remake of this one much like they did with the first one.

Re: Favorite Resident Evil Game
I still need to play RE5 and CV but so far RE2 and RE4 are my favorite games on the series (can't choose one), REmake is amazing there's no other word to describe it, i buy the game JUST for this game. And RE0 it's good but the item managment is annoying, i allways drop ALL my items in 1 single room and then if i need a herb i have to go a long road to that single room.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the original was the only to be remade. 4 was ported to Wii from GC (long with Zero and the remake), and 2 and 3 were ported from Playstation. I'm pretty sure Code Veronica X is just a port of Code Veronica, too.

Yes, people definitely need to stop being confused about this. REmake is the only REAL remake of any of the old games. The GC releases of RE2 and RE3 are on par with the PC/DC ports of the original PSX releases. Might get smoother textures and maybe improved framerates, but they are not remakes in the least.J T wrote:Redfield_Lynch wrote:RE2... to this day one of my dreams would be to have a remake of this one much like they did with the first one.
My friend dished out the heavy cash for the GC releases and found out the hard way, lol.

you own a PC don't you? that's how I played 5 lolElkinFencer10 wrote: I don't have a PS3 or a 360, so I can't play 5 or (when it's out) 6
5 just pisses me off. It's most Shiva, she is the worst part of the game. You spend more time juggling inventory and managing her than anything I feel like. You cannot let her have any healing items because she will waste them when you take even the slightest amount of damage. Talk about frustrating.
Re: Favorite Resident Evil Game
My mistake. I hadn't played it, and the screenshots looked nice, so I thought it was a remake. I guess I was confused by the quality of the original rendered backgrounds and cutscenes, so I didn't get that it wasn't redone. This is good for me to know as I saw it for $20 at a local store and was debating getting it.Xeogred wrote:Yes, people definitely need to stop being confused about this.J T wrote:Redfield_Lynch wrote:RE2... to this day one of my dreams would be to have a remake of this one much like they did with the first one.

Yeah, I mean it'd be nice to own the whole set on the GC if you have the money. But indeed... it really is a huge shame 2-3 didn't get the real REmake treatment.
I really like the grain and low-res look to the PSX versions, but I think if I did get one of the upgraded ports I'd go with the DC releases.

Yeah, Sheva was one of the worst things about RE5 for sure. Capcom's infatuation this gen with forced co-op is terrible.
Re: Favorite Resident Evil Game
Like many, 4 is my hands down favorite, I remember wanting a Gamecube so bad just to play it, then it was announced for the ps2. There was so much talk of how bad it would look and not compare to the GC version, but that didnt turn me off, the day it released I went straight to the store and proceed to play it for 6 hours.
My fiance just played the re-released xbla version and she loved it.
About RE6, while I agree with everyone that it isnt a very good RE game, playing it co-op all the way though with my Fiance was very fun. I can see it being tedious with Sheva controlled by the CPU though.

Re: Favorite Resident Evil Game
I enjoyed playing 4 the most but the original first and second games are tied for the best athmosphere. I did like the Indiana Jones-parts of Re5 and the rail shooter games on wii are decent fun. Quit playing code veronica when I was out of ammo and frustrated and I havent got around of buying RE Zero yet. RE 3 was too much of a rehash of the second game, although being chased by an undying enemy is scary.
Id say number 4 and the original.
I find the original resident evil games with tank controls and ammo reservation quite frustrating nowadays after experiencing Silent Hill games and RE4 and RE5. But I guess thats what make it survival horror, tight corridors, poor controls and not enough ammo to kill every creep, atleast on harder difficulty.
