Where does the Mass Effect series go now?

Post by MulishaSoldier929 »

Now that ME:3 is out and the trilogy is over, do you think Bioware is done with the Mass Effect universe?? Where do they go from here?

I would like to see an open rpg almost like WoW set in the Mass Effect galaxy where everything is custom right down to what ship you pick to fly around in.
Just my .02

Thoughts??

It is probably done for a good while. I doubt a MMO is on the horizon, they just launched Old Republic.

At least a year of periodic DLC, possibly a GoTY edition with it all bundled in or maybe even a series compilation set.

Past that, I think they'll shelve it for a while. Second that an MMO doesn't seem likely, given SWTOR.

When they eventually return to it, it'll probably be (at least) the next console generation and (story-wise) separated from the first three by at least 20-30 years, possibly some extra zeros there.

This might be a naive fantasy, but I'm looking forward to a fresh new franchise from them.

They should make a Gran Turismo Kart game. It's going to be the most realistic kart game ever.</blue text>

"Realism" is ruining gaming. And even realistic kart racing should have collisions.

Who the fuck wants to play a kart racer where you can't crash?

I would enjoy more games in the Mass Effect universe, but the logical choice would be to go back to Jade Empire. Probably best not to dilute Mass Effect and make it into a lame franchise that just keeps going on and on and on. I'm not entirely convinced that they're done with that universe though. If we got a Jade Empire 2, I would hope they deliver a far better combat system than the first game had. They seriously over hyped that bland, boring combat system.

I suppose they could do another KOTOR game, as the MMORPG just doesn't count in my eyes. I pretty much ignore any MMORPG installment in a single player focused series. I kind of hate their very existence (like Final Fantasy XI).

I would love an MDK 3. Anyone remember THAT series?
