Favorite Resident Evil Game

Post by ElkinFencer10 »

Up until recently, my favorite was Resident Evil 4 (I have it for Wii), but after playing Resident Evil: Revelations for 3DS, I think that might actually be my favorite of the series. What's everyone's favorite?

I have always gotten too freaked out to get very far in a Resident Evil game but I have always WANTED to like Resident Evil 2 the most.

I used to read every article about it I could find in Tips and Tricks, EGM, or other magazines, even though I did not have a Playstation until well after 2000. It just looked so advanced for the time and the idea of urban survival was really a neat concept. And the Easter eggs, numerous storylines, all the weapons and characters. RE2 was ahead of its time!

Much to my dismay, when I finally did get to play it I was too squeamish to enjoy it! But of a series I have never played, it is my favorite.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm going to be Mr. Mainstream and say RE4 for GCN.

Code Veronica.
The original game is right up there with it. Loved the gamecube remastered version.

I completed res 1, res 2, code V, and res 5.
Played about halfway through res 3, and res 4.

I have res 0 for gamecube sitting around. Someday...

RE2 is probably my favorite... I think. It's kind of easier and damn short when you know what to do, but if felt more refined for the most part, and I loved the whole "descent" vibe with that game... totally Metroid there, you just keep going further and further underground passing through sewers and tunnels only to end up in crazy labs, etc. Epic atmosphere, and the G-virus was amazingly cool.
Toss up between RE1/REmake and RE2 probably. I loved RE3 and RE4 as well, Zero was cool and CV wasn't bad. I wish Mikami could've done one more with Ada as the main character. Screw the series after 4.

R.E. 2
For some reason, this one always stuck with me.
Next would be a tie between R.E. 4 Wii Ed., and the GCN re-vamp of the original. Unlike most other re-releases, these two were tweaked enough and had a good bit of new content added to make them improvements over the originals, IMO.

Still have Revelations sealed on the shelf; only because I'm having too much fun kicking ass as Barry Burton in The Mercenaries.

I've beaten 1, 2, 4, and Revelations. I have 3, Code Veronica, and Zero (working on 3 mainly right now, but I'm going to be switching between them) along with Outbreak and Umbrella Chronicles (which I've also beaten). I don't have a PS3 or a 360, so I can't play 5 or (when it's out) 6, but I'm hoping Capcom will follow their trend of rereleasing a million times and release them for Wii U when it launches.

I'd go with RE 4, since it's the middle ground. It's easier than the older REs, but it still contains more survival horror-y elements than RE5 (which seems to be more action than horror). In terms of graphics, it's also the middle ground (doesn't look as pretty as RE5/looks prettier than the older games).

I'd also put Darkside Chronicles as my favorite, if we're going to include the light gun games.

I concur. I think the action was fun and it still kept the creepy RE vibe. I thought it was scary as shit.
