ElkinFencer10's Modest Gaming Collection - VIDEO ADDED

Post by ElkinFencer10 »

We've finally finished renovating my room after water came up through the house's foundation and flooded everything. We had to rip up all of the carpet, so since the room was empty anyway, we figured we'd go ahead and paint. That led to new curtains to match the floor, which led to a new bedspread, new lamps, and then I rearranged my furniture a little bit...yeah, it took a while (and a lot of money, which is part of why I was sleeping on a couch for a MONTH). Anyway, here it is. Forgive the picture quality - still using my phone.

Image
My two TVs, my Atari 2600, and my NES. Between those consoles is my A/V switch box and in front of that is my Legend of Zelda wallet.

Image
An overview of the corner with the floor lamp. I've got my Wii and my Genesis/32x/CD on top of the left bookshelf, and my N64 and SNES on the top of the adjacent shelf with the Dreamcast and Saturn below that. Below those two are my Mario question block and my stuffed Pikachu.

Image
Beside the aforementioned shelves is my second bookcase - it holds my PS2 and my Master System - and my bed side table - it holds the table lamp that matches the floor lamps and my remotes.

Image
Here's my cubical unit where I keep the last of my games, some memorabilia, and in the drawers, my controllers organized by generation (except for the drawer in the first column, second row; it's strictly for light guns).

That's it for the shelf overviews. Now for some slightly closer up pictures of the shelf games.

Image
My first two rows of Nintendo games. The Legend of Zelda cartridges really blind with the flash...

Image
The rest of the Nintendo games along with the Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, and Sega 32x games.

Image
Sega CD games and the first few Super Nintendo games. I'm baffled by the flash's refusal to do anything there, but it's whatever.

Image
Moving over a shelf, the rest of my Super Nintendo games and my Nintendo 64 games.

Image
My Sega Saturn, Playstation, Sega Dreamcast, and the first half of my Gamecube games.

Image
The rest of my Gamecube games and most of my Playstation 2 games.

Image
The last few Playstation 2 games, my Wii games, my DS games, and my few 3DS games. My Atari 2600 games are on top of the unit.

Image
Last but not least, Jack, the eternally lazy gaming beagle.

I finally got around to doing it. I finally made a video slideshow of all of my games, lol. It's also got a short tour of the room (It's only a 12x13 bedroom, so there's not much to show) at the beginning. I'm not exactly a wiz with Movie Maker, so it's no masterpiece, but I think it turned out pretty well. Enjoy.

I have no idea how to get a video to embed, so I'll just post a URL.

My mom was always very adamant in high school that school was my job and that I not have a job, but she knew I needed gas money and general spending money to go out with friends, so that's why I originally got that allowance. Now she keeps giving it to me for food, toiletries, unexpected textbook expenses, etc. in college. I, however, take absurd efforts to squeeze every penny out of everything that I can and not spend more than I have to so I have some cash left over for my collection.

^_^ Thank you. I've always been embarrassed about sharing it on online communities since most people have such massive collections, but everyone here's been really cool and supportive so far, so I figured I'd share, too.

If anyone is curious as to what specifically is in my collection, I always keep my Backloggery page completely up to date.

Your collection is great and all, but your dog is an absolute boss. 8)

Well, he's a fatass, but he's a pretty faithful gaming partner. He's been helping me kill zombies tonight.

I can identify with building a collection off an allowance. I get $22 every two weeks. Most of my games lately come from thrift stores. It takes a long time, but it can be done.
