sega master system or tg-16

TG-16 games, especially the "better ones," tend to be harder to find in the wild. So if you don't mind buying most of your games off the net then go for the TG-16. But if you're just looking to buy another system and collect for it for fun, the Master System can be a good choice. Just buy a SMS and put up a "WANTED: Sega Master System Games" ad on Craigslist. You might be surprised how many people still have their old carts boxed up in an attic or closet.

Everything else I want to try to get rid of maybe I will do a craigslist ad or sell it here. I really don't know what to do with the pc games.

Parasol Stars, Alien Crush and Legendary Axe is some quality OBEY right there. I hope you can unload the other items...maybe a local used game shop?

Does the Master System really have a wider library than the TG16? I se some people mentioning this, but of the games that actually aged well and are worth playing, I recall the TG having way more entertaining games than the SMS.

IMO its not even a competition, the TG is fantastic, the only console that could actually hold a candle to the GEN, SNES, and NG. Some even prefer it.

Then again, I would hunt down NES games before I would go for SMS. I don't know, the system just never clicked with me. Those 8-bit sonic games are pretty cool though, and some fun shooters.

As in love with the SMS as I am, with its sleek 8-way D-pad surpassed only by the Saturn, its 4D glasses, it's rapid-response buttons... and that annoying on-console pause button... even with its bundled games, this system has much fewer games than the TG16. Especially if you include the TG16's (albeit pricey) import library.

The best of the SMS is easily played on the GG with an adapter if I'm remembering correctly, save for the Sega Card games, and SMS-on-the-go is probably the best way to be amazed at how they crammed 16-bit titles (Sonic, Streets of Rage, Dynamite Duke) into such a condensed format.

Yesterday my controllers camein from the mail and I am loving the tg-16. I wish I got into this system earlier or picking this up when it was on the death bed and stores was phasing this system out. The rf sucks but whatever.

I am a big fan of the Master System, so while I will clearly be biased, I recommend sampling the delights of Sega's 8-bit library. There isn't any substitute for the feeling that you get when playing a Master System. That may just be because it was the clear underdog, but there are a ton of gems for the system, especially if you venture into PAL markets.

Quite frankly I am not too impressed overall with the games on the Master system. Don't get me wrong there are a few noteworthy ones, but I feel like the Turbografx had a stronger library ESPECIALLY if you get a TurboDuo and import games.

Well right now im just getting games for the turbografx. If I find a sweet deal on genesis and snes games then I wont let it by but I really am loving the tg-16. Ninja spirit is freaking awesome

man I absolutely HATED the SMS controller.. horrid D-pad, because it's so square, you sometimes hit diagonal when you just want to hit direct right or left..(luckily you can just use a Genny controller, no prob)
NES d-pad is 100 times better.. but I agree.. Saturn one is probably the ultimate! That one is hard to beat.
