It is interesting. I've thought about using my Vita for chat too with my buddy that has a Vita, while playing computer games or even PS3 games.

New peripheral ideas are always interesting. While I can only imagine the hailstorm of criticism that will come from many PC gamers about the prospect of using a touchscreen as a computer input device (outside dedicated tablets, of course), I think that this looks promising. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
