It's on the DC as plain 'ol "Bangai-O"
My favorite DC game!
True that the DC game is awesome, but Spirits is a new game with altered gameplay and new levels and a new "story."
Anyway, they keep changing the release, but right now it is August 12, 2008. Of course, you can always import the JP version which came out a while ago.

I really enjoy that Hardcore Gaming 101 site. I have been reading it for awhile now. Good stuff. But yeah Treasure has definitely made some of my favorite games. It is hard to explain but there is a certain magic to their games that I feel when I play them. I find all the aspects of their games to be very appealing.

oh....i thought that was the Japanese name for the N64 title.
i never pay attention to DS games! but i might have to now.
I acquired a japanese copy of Bangai-O spirits, but I wouldn't recommend it as an import, it's got a crazy weapons system that looks really cool but seriously needs a translation, there's weapon combinations and such, but if u dont read kanji (like me) it's even more baffling than the storyline of the original game.

I'm sad that I've never played Alien Soldier.
I bought it last night on the VC, and I have to say it is very impressive, though a fair bit harder than Gunstar Heroes
