I forgot about vgcollect. I made an account there a while back. I just tried it again and it's similar to backloggery in the amount of effort you have to put in. You still have to type out (or copy/paste) the names of every game. May as well just do it on backloggery, where you can track your stats, rate and comment on games, have a dynamic forum signature, watch live streams, and chat with other members.johnnyonthespot wrote:I'm a user of VGcollect. http://www.vgcollect.com
It's still in it's beginner stages but shows great potential with the ability to add information to carts and a WIP android app.
Any free sites to catalog my collection for others to see?

I keep an excel file and periodically update a googledoc with it. Though I do have a backloggery and am halfway through inputting it all on rfgen as well

I'm planning to start upping my collection here. I like how simple and uncluttered the site looks. I already signed up but haven't started yet.madk wrote:I prefer VGCollect...but that's because I made it.ha

What's up with the Android app? Is there currently a beta version or something? How well does it work at this point?

Yes! For new registrants, add a second password field that checks against the first one in case someone accidentally mistypes their password.madk wrote:I prefer VGCollect...but that's because I made it.ha

Thanks! You can find the app in the market, just search for VGCollect. It's functional but lacks many features that the site has. I've basically been learning Android development as I go, so the updates haven't came as quickly as I would have liked. You can do basic stuff like search, view, add, edit games on your list. I'm hoping to dedicate more time to it soon as I wrap up some of the new site features.noiseredux wrote: I'm planning to start upping my collection here. ha. I'll add that to the todo list. Sometimes I try to make things TOO simple. If you are locked out of your account or something just drop me a PM.o.pwuaioc wrote: Yes! Heh, no, I'm fine, I actually just registered. But it's such a standard practice to verify a password because it's so, so easy to hit the wrong key sometimes. :/madk wrote:ha. I know from experience.

I just use Backloggery. Sure you have to type in your games, but the features it offers (sig-tag, progress updates, reviews, notes, multi-tap/friends list) outweigh that small absent feature.

I'm currently using an excel sheet locally and updating it on Google Docs. I'm looking into new alternatives since IGN isn't working out anymore.
