I would love to have my basement setup like the Bunker Project:

Just with mech pods and retrogaming instead of the theatre section and a collection/storage room instead of the DDR one. He came to the same conclusion I did with the PCs

Re: A Steam console?
After thinking about it, this is going to be undeniably bad.
Really, what would this give us other than we don't already have? Nothing. Nothing at all. There's nothing in a Steam console that I cannot have already on my PC and lots of bad, bad things about it. The last thing I want is quality sacrificed for a wider audience that thinks gaming on a PC is hard, no matter how easy it actually is.
Really, I hope this doesn't see the light of the day.

Re: A Steam console?
I think you guys are looking at this from the wrong perspective. Assuming the Steam Console is a real thing, I'm thinking it's not targeted at people who already use Steam, or at least we're a bit of a secondary market. I think the appeal is that it'll be a relatively high end computer, at most likely a dirt cheap price (relative to other prebuilt computers), and perhaps a modified, console-style interface. If anything, I think this will be a huge boost to PC games, as it will potentially bring in the console crowd, and the crowd that say "PC gaming is too expensive."
It remains to be seen what exactly happens. I can't for sure say that I'm excited about this, as I really have no idea anything about it, I've only conjectured. However, it's a Valve product, which makes me a bit worried that it'll be too awesome to pass up.

PC Gamers don't want the console crowd. We want people who see the advantages of the PC and go for it.Lokkenjawnz wrote:I think you guys are looking at this from the wrong perspective. It will be the Prius of PC's... everything you need but do you really want it?Weekend_Warrior wrote:So in other words, they're making a PC?
Re: A Steam console?
The hilarious part is that isn't that over exaggerated at what would really happen.
