I would imagine that getting a 60GB PS3 and holding onto it for a later date would be rather lucrative. Unless the PS4 has 4 generations of backwards compatibility, which it should. If the games are disk-based there's no excuse.

Maybe it will emulate PS2 but have no PS3 capabilities!

It won't be that valuable. They're not even worth much now.

Thanks guys, I've got my PS3 up and running and got Skyrim, Little Big Planet, and Deus Ex Human Revolution. Also, I just bought Sonic Generations of Ebay, so should have that soon :)

They routinely go for more than a new Slim PS3. How is that not worth much?

Anyways, the Slims emulate PS1 games still so as has been said, the only real reason to get a 60gb is for PS2 games.

The latest reports within the industry say that Sony might be abandoning the Cell chip for the PS4. If that's the case, I don't see PS3 backwards compatibility being very likely.

Hmm, have been unable to connect to PSN for the past hour or two. Is this likely a normal intermittent problem or some kind of fault?
