Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Ventured down to San Jose for work this past week, in my free time I hit up a few spots I found on the game store directory and as well as one that Apolloboy mentioned when we finished our trade:
Boring Gamestop stuff (will give this Santa Clara store a good review, based on their pretty funny and casual staff):
Cathrine (Xbox360) - $30
Gotcha Force (complete) - $8
More interesting stuff, hit up this little basement store called "Game Shop", which has an identical logo to the Game Stop (the guy who runs it is a bit of a character). He had a pretty hefty collection of games (not much really good unless you like JPN PS1 dating sims) he did have a few obscure items most stores I've been to don't stock like a Virtual Boy, Nomad, Game Gear (with battery pack), and more.
For the most part he was pretty dead on market value for everything, a few he under valued. What caught my eye was the Sega CDX, it was just sitting on the shelf with a bunch of random systems. I know these are kind of hard to find so I hoped his pricing would be fair. Bought the following:
Sega CDX - $30
Saturn Netlink Modem - $10 (bought it as i've never seen one)
Gameboy games: Gargoyles Quest, Makaimura Gaiden, Super 30 in 1, GBC 32 in 1 - $20
Guy sort of verified the CDX worked but I was suspicious as it had no cables. Tested it this morning and it worked perfectly.
Now I just have to hunt down the proper CDX power brick...

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Wish I could find a cdx/multimega for a low low price... Anyway, I have had a chronic drought of good finds. I found a place today which had a whole heap of bootleg genesis games and a few master system games. All of them were completely mutilated and ex-rental. I picked up Fantasy Zone The Maze for $3.00. As I said, it looks completely wretched (believe me I'm doing us all a favour by not posting a photo) but hopefully I'll get $3.00 worth of fun out of it.

Where in Minnesota? Maybe I should start checking pawn shops. I've never been to one before actually.aisforaquabat wrote:I was in Minnesota for the weekend visiting a friend. We hit up a bunch of Pawn Americas. Each location prices games wildly different from the others. At one, Super Mario Bros. for NES was priced at $10, and at another my friend got Chrono Trigger for $8.

I assume it was Duluth, but it could have been Fargo or even International Falls.flex wood wrote:Where in Minnesota? Maybe I should start checking pawn shops. I've never been to one before actually.

Definately wasn't the Duluth PA. I stop in at least once a month - never seen a single NES game in there and the SNES games are typically 20% over ebay.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I would gladly pay $10 for this, what it represents is too cool. is it possible to still play with someone else that has one? From what I understand it literally just dials to the other Saturn that you are going to play with.Mechblue wrote: Saturn Netlink Modem - $10 (bought it as i've never seen one)

You and the other person both need analog land lines.jay_red wrote:I would gladly pay $10 for this, what it represents is too cool. is it possible to still play with someone else that has one? I assume they would also need netlink versions of the games they wanted to play.emwearz wrote:You and the other person both need analog land lines.jay_red wrote: I would gladly pay $10 for this, what it represents is too cool. is it possible to still play with someone else that has one? Gotcha Force CIB for $10. Pretty nice, seeing how eBay and Amazon are selling it for $50-60 upwards.
