Gameboy Game Genie Mod Help

Post by ReddMcKnight »

I read on Wikipedia that with Modifications to the Plastic, the original Gameboy Game Genie could be made to work on a Super Game Boy (I'm using a Super Famicom Super Gameboy, just so you all know). However, I can't find ANY guides on how to do this. Can anyone explain to me how this is done so I can do it? Thank you!

What it sounds like is that the Game Genie will work on the Super Gameboy, but it wont physically fit into the Super GB. I would first confirm this by removing the PCB from the Game Genie, you should be able to stick the bare PCB in the Super GB. Make sure you realize which side is front and back, make sure you stick it in the Super GB facing the right way, and stick the GB cart in the Game Genie facing the right way.

If it works, put the PCB aside for a second. Put the Game Genie case together (without the PCB inside of it) and try to insert it into the Super GB like you would with a GB cart. What parts of the plastic is preventing you from inserting it? This is what you'll have to trim away in order to get it to fit. That's what the mod is.

Thanks to your tips, I was able to do it! Thanks, Ziggy! :D

Also, for future reference, the PCB cannot be fully removed from the Game Genie. :P

i beleive it does work if you take the plastic case off the super gameboy. but the game genei fucking sucks, use a gameshark instead, it's such a better cheat device.
