paiting a dreamcast.

i want to paint some dreamcast, is there a special paint i need?

Krylon fusion is made specifically for plastics. I used the black on mine with good results. Just wash the housings in warm soapy water. Let them dry completely, then wipe it down with a lint free cloth and mineral spirits to remove any residue or oils...then paint! Make sure not to touch w/o latex gloves after you use the mineral spirits as the oils from your fingers may cause "orange peel".

could you post a pic of it? im thinking black and white, and also silver.

I used Krylon Fusion on my Dreamcast about a year ago, and it came out looking great without any clearcoats. Just sprey as far from the case as you can and still paint it and don't put too much paint on at once. Put on a coat, wait a while, put on another coat.

Let it dry completely. You don't want smudges in the paint. Also, Krylon Fusion has a different texture than the plastic you paint on. It shows dust very easily (especially on black painted systems like mine) but cleaning it is a breeze. I just pick my entire dreamcast up and rub it across my shirt and BAM! Factory fresh.

You could probably avoid the dust showing by putting a clear sealant on it. You could sand it first and make it really smooth. Surfaces without as much testure usually don't gather as much dust!

I used fine grit sand paper and wet-sanded the thing. It's not that bad realy, much like a 1st model PS2.
