Pfft. You outclassed me. I need to practice my skiing, especially steering at high speeds. How do you break such a linear path when you're going so fast?

You can "hop" (hold a direction while tapping on your jump/jet) repeatedly. It only works well at lower speeds though. <140
Jetpacking in general will help you steer.
Alternatively, letting go of ski causes you to stop pretty much instantly. Combined with the Pathfinder's booster, you can stop, and get headed in a separate direction and a fair pace really quickly which is my choice of class and maneuvering.
A lot of it is finding routes in an area that you can loop around endlessly. Hills that corner in work well to change direction as well.
TDM has been pretty hilarious in Sulphur Cove. As a pathfinder with boost, it's pretty easy to maintain 180 doing a circle around the edge of the map with the flag. If I have a friend playing, I can just keep doing that all match long while they drop the flag on my route.
