Decent platformer by Namco, called Marvel Land in Japan.
It was also called Marvel Land In the USA. Fun game!

Heres one more obscure game that deserves a mention on this list.

SYD OF VALIS

Its another 2D action platformer!

It may be cutesy but its still got lots of action.

This series looked to be quite popular in japan and available here in the US for both Genesis and SNES. But this spinoff/sidestory is quite self contained. It helps to know the main series, but not really.

The cover art is kinda deceptive. At first glance, this game seems nothing like normal platformer. So some people may have overlooked it because of it.

It even has the screen title backwards! what is it? Syd of Vais or Valis Syd?

what ever it is, it needs to be played!

Oh. THAT game. I was like, "What the hell?" Now I remember it. That game was always on Nick Arcade. They seemed to really like it on that show

This is a fantastic platformer and probably my favorite Konami game. The game has tight controls, a reasonable challenge, and a lengthy campaign. The only problems that I have with the game are a lack of a password system and the Konami trap that requires the difficulty to be bumped to see the true ending.

Guys, can you please number your entries? It makes things much easier.

Yeah, for anyone new to these threads we've been doing, some good ground rules would be:

1)One pick per post
2)Once you post a game, let one or two other people post before you nominate another game
3)Try to number your entry
4)This is optional, but comments and pics elevate the thread above similar top whatever threads that you see on other sites and forums.

I'll edit these rules into the first post of the thread right after I post this

Great port of the arcade game -- so good we played it back in January as the Shmup of The Month right here on RB :)
