I just downloaded it for MAME and been playing it here at work (sshh!).

My score so far:

yeah, I am no good on a keyboard either. Some people can get crazy ass scores with them though, as with all control styles.

Hmm, are you using dragon attack pretty much constantly? Also, are you spawning those pots that spew out tons of gold when shot? Those are two keys to scoring, along with Boss Tech bonuses (which I haven't done a single one of yet)

dragon attack being the "bomb"? I tend to save them for bosses or "oh shit I'm about to get shot" moments.

No, when you dismount from your dragon ("button 3") it thrusts forward. That thrust kills enemies and gives you gold coins.

WTF? That 170k score was like my third try -- I feel like I'm playing better but getting lower scores
