Thanks guys. As for the price I got it for $800. I know it's an insane amount of money, but I thought why the hell not for a rare NES title. I am going to play it and will have gameplay up on youtube soon. I have to save up money for a good capture USB stick so i can connect it to my NES.

I would get a protective case for sure if you invested that much. Would be a shame for some 30 cent juice to ruin such an investment.

Sounds like the OP values condition though, so his may well be worth the +$300 (to him) for it's mintiness. (The one in the auction looks like it got wet around the label edges too).

For that matter he could have gotten one of these for under $100

But sometimes condition & format mean a lot.

Yep, you're crazy

Seriously though, if you've got the money, and all the bills are paid, why the heck not?

I'd drop 800 for a game if I wanted it bad enough. I'd probably have to save up for it for a few months though

Hell, you can probably get the money back at any time if you want to sell it. That's why I don't mind splurging on stuff like this. These games retain value better than just about anything else you spend money on these days

I can't see myself ever paying that much for a game but if I actually had a job, yeah I'd probably me more likely to spend large amounts of money at one time. My mindset now though, is if I'm spending $800, I better be getting a bunch of shit. haha

But in all seriousness, I'm not trying to be mean at all. I know that the game is hard as hell to find probably even more so in such good condition, so that's awesome that he found it. And as long as he's happy with it that's all that matters. I had a feeling that showing that auction would make me look like an ass, but I really didn't mean to offend anyone.

I've never seen a cleaner flintstones cart. Great buy dude. I'm glad your playing it too as that's what it's for. Sure beats emulation.

People like you make me proud and you have every right to make a post to show off the goods. Now get to work on that video playthrough capture!

You know honestly, I'd rather spend 800 on a bunch of cheaper stuff too now that you mention it. I think if I reached a point where I had everything I want in my collection though, than maybe I'd start eyeing the super expensive games like that one. I kind of like the idea of building up a collection of good stuff first, then get the super rare stuff later. Maybe along the way you get lucky and find something super rare cheap at a flea market or something

That's essentially how my collection went after I got my job. First I started picking up good stuff for consoles I missed out on as a kid. Then when I rounded all that off I started keeping an eye out for rare or interesting collectables, most of which I've gotten from the Child's Play Charity Auction.
