Huh? I've read the books, what do you mean by 'dos'? Like Microsoft DOS?

The crazy hairdo's and hairdon'ts. Is it explained in the books why the upper class dresses like they are in a pretend movie, and does the upper class dress like weirdo's on purpose in the books?

Thanks.

Oh. Yes it does. There is an extreme difference between the people at the capital and the plebs. It's supposed to show their oppulance and how out of touch they are with society outside of the capital.

EDIT: I really enjoyed the books. The movie looks like it could be good, but 1. Woody Harrelson looks dumb and 2. it looks like it could go either way.

Thanks again. Sometimes a director gives already good material his/her own spin and doesn't work out. I thought maybe the overstated outfits and dos of the Capital may have been one of those tweaks (it still looks kind of silly to me).

I've heard really good things about the movie though. Not an Oscar contender, but a fun time with a good story nonetheless. I'll catch the theatrical release for sure.

It was actually one of the first things I thought of when I heard they were making a movie. How do they make that work? It made sense in the books, but I'm not sure it translates well to the big screen. I guess we'll see. I'm sure my expectations will be set properly to enjoy this movie. The one I am really worried about being good is Ender's Game.

Ender's Game has enough great actors in it to turn it into a horrible movie. I'll see the movie regardless, but I smell Cowboys and Aliens reviews coming our way.

In the end though, was Cowboys and Aliens really that bad? Maybe it was because everyone told me it was going to suck that I thought it was ok, but it really didn't seem that bad to me. For Ender's it will be hard for my expectations not to be high. I love the book so much, I'm pretty much setting myself up for failure.

It doesn't have to be "that bad"; bad works for me. I like a lot of "bad movies", C&A isn't one of them.

There is no reason to ever go into a movie with any expectations. Just go for the ride, and I know that is easier said than done. It's no different than playing a new game for the first time; go in blindly.
