Space simulators?

Post by Flake »

Hey computer dude/gal types,

I am looking to find a game that is a realistic or semi-realistic space mission or space ship simulator. I have already tried Moon Base Alpha but I am really interested in something where ships play a role.

Any suggestions?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

You're not in luck when it comes to space-sims, it's a niche genre at best.

Your best bet is to try the FreeSpace 2 Source Code Project

Freespace is my favorite. If only there'd be a Freespace 3... But Volition is too busy making Saints Row 17.

There's always "Space Shuttle Project" on NES.
It's obscurity sometimes rockets it's price into the stratosphere, but it's nowhere near as "rare" as some might suggest.

[Edit] - I guess my recommendation hinges on your definition of "realistic" in this case. :D

some of you seem to not understand the difference between "space simulator" and "space combat"
