Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Random Urge to hit a Goodwill today was worth it. The lady there knows me so when I walked in she told me she just got some games in and haven't even been pulled out the bags they were brought in. I love getting first grabs. So here is what I scored:
NES 3 bucks each cart only:
Battletoads
Dragon Warrior
Paperboy
Bad Dudes
Punch Out!
Game Genie w/ Code Book
PS1 all CIB $4 apiece
Legend of Legaia
Diablo
Ehrgeiz
4 ps1 memory cards for $1 apiece with 3 of them being in little N64 memory card holder.
Idiana Jones and the Last Crusade for $3 Atari 2600
Ps1 Game Shark $1
PS1 Namco Gun $5
Free Mario/Duck Hunt manual
Golden Eye manual with writing on it
SNES owners manual

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
FYI, if you didn't already know, that N64 memory card holder is for the longer Performance brand memory cards. They were longer so they could fit in the Tremor Pak they made (I tried putting a standard size memory card in it once and it took forever to remove it).

Has two 3D controllers and RF cable, but the console was clean. It came with Bottom of the 9th in a cracked case.
Haggled with the seller and I got it down to the reasonable price of $10.00!
That is a good idea, being a regular to get first dibs.sbk wrote:Random Urge to hit a Goodwill today was worth it. The lady there knows me so when I walked in she told me she just got some games in and haven't even been pulled out the bags they were brought in. I love getting first grabs.
How much was the Guncon video adaptor for the PS1? It has a great undocumented feature. You can use it as a splitter not only for Lightguns but also as a splitter for the PS2. Connect Component cables for the HDTV and a small Composite LCD screen at the same time. This is perfect for the PS2 when doing direct hard drive installs. Monitor the install on the small screen while watching TV, jump back to 480p after the install.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I hit up my local Play N Trade yesterday just to see if anything new had come in. Didn't get anything too crazy, but I really wanted to pick up a black Wii Classic Controller Pro. (Decided I was going to go ahead and drop the $20 on it.)
Wouldn't you know it? They had a used one, still in the box, for $9.99. The thing is mint. So that's my find of the day.
I also picked up the Devil May Cry 5th anniversary collection with DMC1,2,and 3 in a cardboard box for $10. That wasn't too bad.
(Just a heads up, I don't know if any of you have local Play N Trades, but since they are franchised, they can usually bend and break store rules all day long. I've gotten in really good with the employees now, and I give them games sometimes, and they give me smokin' deals. I even get calls when new stuff comes in that they think I'll like. They've even called me when people are trying to trade in games they won't take, to see if I'd give the person a buck or two. Then they grab 'em and hold 'em on my behalf. It pays to be nice to these guys! Now I just need an insider at all of the Goodwills around here. They are very nice, but they don't seem to want to help me get the good games. LOL.)

I've only been to a Play N Trade once, unfortunately there isn't one within 2 hours of where I live, but the one I went to was awesome. They had great prices and a decent selection. The "retro" section wasn't really that big but it was still cool since it was the first and only one I've been there. It's always fun to dig through games at a new place and look for deals.

It came with the Gun I bought for $5 so I guess free! I'll have to check this splitter action!CRTGAMER wrote:That is a good idea, being a regular to get first dibs.sbk wrote:Random Urge to hit a Goodwill today was worth it. I'm confused about the splitter. I recently picked up the same GunCon at Goodwill, and the cable for the gun doesn't seem to have anything that can be unattached. It has the video composite in (male), with a side composite input (female) built into the same plug. I assumed it was a pass through for the PS1 video so that the TV would recognize the light gun signal and the PS1 video signal?
Am I missing a piece to make this work? (shame on me, I haven't actually tried the gun out yet, as I don't have any PS1 light gun games)

You are fine and correct, the lightgun has a pass thru.pvt_awol wrote:I'm confused about the splitter. The additional Splitter pictured above allows the Lightgun to be connected at the console end vs at the back of the TV. The idea is all the Lightgun cables string out to the console, perfect if the TV is across the room. No worries though, you can add an extra RCA cable if your Lightgun cord is not long enough. Keep in mind the Guncons only work on a standard definition CRT. You can go Extended Definition CRT with a Guncon 2 but no luck on HDTV.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
At Salvation Army today:
Two 3-VHS "Best of the Simpsons" sets, tapes 1-6.
A Nintendo-brand SNES controller
Batman (the 1960's movie) on VHS (for the family)
Kiki's Delivery Service on VHS (for the family)
I was doing volunteer work today, so I got a 50% discount. My total: $3.
You people who wonder if there's a lot of "cherry picking" going on in the back of thrift stores? There really isn't that much of it going on. People don't donate very many videogames, and very nearly all of them make it to the floor. Most of the stuff I saw get held back were boring things like nick-nacks, clothes, and lamo movies.
