I hope mine comes in today.

Edit: No package today. Anticipation is killing me.

4:3 SDTV display problems on PS3 have been confirmed. It's a box within a box.

I posted a comment on G.Rev's Facebook asking if there were plans to patch the game to resolve this:
There are reports that both the 360 and PS3 versions force the game to letterbox on 4:3 Standard Definition Televisions. There is always a thick black border around the image, YOKO or TATE. Are there plans to patch the game so that it displays full screen on these older TVs? I am sure this would please many fans with CRT based arcade cabinets and retro gaming set ups.
I suggest everyone else do the same. Let's make sure this is noticed and resolved.

HEY! I know who you are on the shmups forum now!

SO I WAS THINKING for those of us that did get UD HD, should we start a High Scores thread?

Absolutely, if someone starts it up, i'll link it to the hyper-linked list.

It would need to be run prob. in (3) categories though, which would be fine as I think there'd be plenty of interest, particularly right now.

what are you thinking?

1. Dreamcast/Arcade
2. PS3/360 arcade mode
3. PS3/360 new order mode

I thought it was always pretty obvious, given the subject matter of my handles. :)

Hey, you know the saying. If you build it...

^Like that, yeah. Those who've played arcade mode on ps3/360 and DC can let us know if they would think it ok to combine them, thus only (2) needed.

I imagine the MAME version would fit into closely w/one of them? Again, haven't played that though.

hey guess what? Someone on Shmupsboard figured out that everyone can be happy now:

I just found the option to play UD in full screen tate Arcade mode.

You still need to be in widescreen from the console menu, but in game go to screen options and select wallpaper 'type clear'. It's a little overscanned, but no borders, and the actual overscan option now zooms the head up display only(!)

You can toggle the HUD with aspect ratio as well.

Edit: The HUD toggle options only seem to be available from the in game pause screen, not the one in the menu before you start...

I read that too. That does not nullify the need for a patch. It's only a work around and not a complete fix. All the other issues with the game still apply. Lets hope G.rev comes through
