Yeah...I usually carry my 9mm in my front waistband when I go to pick up video games from people on Craigslist regardless of where I am picking them up. I also keep a very sharp hunting knife in my boot and a cyanide pill in my mouth just in case. I usually leave the nunchucks in the car, however...

[In all seriousness, cookie, you be safe...I have walked away from more than one Craigslist pick up because I just had a bad feeling about it.]
I always make sure i am in a well populated area. But theses days you can never be to careful.

Well populated and especially well lit places are always your friend. When I didn't know better, I'd hit up people on Craigslist and roll over to their houses at 8-9ish at night, sometimes later. Some skeevy looking places too. I've often wondered why I didn't have the sense to set up a meet at a local Mickey D's, or something. I'm probably lucky that the only thing I ever encountered were great deals on hard drives and film posters.

*Real* men wear a quick-draw gadget holster. Never know when you'll be challenged to a portable gaming duel!
...
Actually I just wear jackets with at least one large inside pocket big enough for my Pandora or OQO.

I see runners with a big stick or small bat in their hands. I guess they do it for protection from dogs?

I have a wallet in my back pocket and don't ever notice it. I wear slacks so I'm not really sitting directly on it. It's more just about the seat.

I once successfully defended myself with my pocketknife from a guy about twice my size. I stabbed him twice in the kidney area as he was choking me from behind. I was 16 years old and have no idea why he didn't track me down and literally murder me at a later date. He was a senior in my school. After I graduated, I had a pizza delivery job and delivered one to his house. We actually had a nice chat and he seemed like a normal guy.

I still have very little idea of why he attacked me. Maybe he was on drugs. I was just walking past him and his friend in a parking lot.

Yeah, if you EVER do craigslist pick ups, ALWAYS do them in public. Not too far from where I used to live (about 2 miles) was where that kid murdered someone answering a babysitter ad. Always be ready for anything. Double if you're a girl, thrice if you're a young girl, single if you're a young girl skilled in hand to hand and have a valid CnC permit.

I've met some sketchy craigslist people. Also ended up walking away last-minute from a few buys when something just felt "off". Always meet in a public place. I generally meet people in Panera Bread/coffee shops, which seems to work out well.

Just recently, I had a potential buyer who claimed to live in the same city as me. Yet when I suggested we meet at the local shopping center, he claimed to not know where it was. Pretty clear he wanted to show up to my house instead. We could make a whole 'nother thread about scary shit like this.
