Is the console painted? The inner color by the jumper pack looks true, but the outside seems very very dark?

Bottom is Yellow and the top is just a sun faded blue that makes it looks green. It is not painted though. For 20 bucks I'm not gonna complain. Just needs to be cleaned up a bit.

Too bad they don't have some sort of super RAM expansion pack which sticks out . Like some badass car's engine. That would make you forget you don't have the cover...

Or maybe not...

I've actually seen those things on consoles on ebay and wondered what the hell they were (yeah, I really didn't know). But thanks for clearing that up! They actually look kinda cool in my opinion.

Yeah, retrobit and a few others have that "over the top of the console" design to them.

I believe the original thought was to make extraction easier, however they certainly found a niche with all of those lost expansion covers.

Do an ebay search of expansion pack covers - the watermelon, fire orange, and pikachu expansion covers sell for upwards of $20 sometimes. Yes, the 1/8" thick piece of plastic - thats it.

Here ya go SBK

Wow that is funny. I am surprised no one mentions the good deal I got on Metal Storm and Phantasy Star 2,
