As part of the revamped podcast that will launch next month, we want to be able to more regularly include some of the forum folks with special expertise so that we can invite you onto the show as we see fit. Specifically, we want to be able to have a pool of members who will be happy to have a brief Skype discussion with us about certain topics when our own expertise is lacking or when another point of view would be welcome.
We think this will be a great way to successfully bring one of the biggest strengths of the forum (an amazing knowledge base) to the new show.
Here's a few categories where I know it would be useful to have experts, but feel free to mention your own area of specialty (just ONE, please). The more specific the area (e.g. NES RPGs instead of RPGs, indie PC games instead of PC games, Cave shmups instead of all shmups, etc.), the better and more likely you'll be contacted as the need arises.
-Japanese Gaming Corespondent: caffeinedreamer and hashiriya1
-European Gaming Corespondent - (same idea as above, but for Europe)
-Gaming Corespondents from other regions (South America, Africa, etc.)
-Console Modding Corespondent: ApolloBoy
-Classic Arcade Games Corespondent - YoshiEgg25
-Sports Games Corespondent - sevin0seven (basketball) and retrosportsgamer (general)
-Comic Book Games Corespondent - SpaceBooger
-Game Boy Corespondent - noiseredux
-Pinball Corespondent (non-video pinball)
-Horror Games Corespondent
-Video Game Music Corespondents - (perhaps several people, covering scores, composers, and even chiptunes or video game-related bands)
-Indie Games Corespondents
-Homebrew Corespondents
-others?
Again, these are just some areas off the top of my head where I think we could use a "go to person" when needed. To be clear: it may be once a year or less that we'd contact you, so this is very much a "once in a while" kind of thing. Feel free to sign up for any of these slots or to suggest your own area of specialty.

Re: Could YOU be an expert corespondent for the RB Podcast?
I don't live there anymore (but still visit frequently), but I would be down for the Japanese Gaming Correspondent if someone who lives there doesn't take the spot.
Re: Could YOU be an expert corespondent for the RB Podcast?
I'm pretty good with Japanese SMS games, MSX stuff or classic game system modding, I'd be up for this!

updated the OP with where you'd each fit best - thanks!
Keep them coming, folks! We want the show to have the full benefit of forum expertise, and we don't want to awkwardly ask people onto the show unless we know they'd be comfortable talking about the subject

Re: Could YOU be an expert corespondent for the RB Podcast?
updated again. JMustang1968 is actually very good with sports games too and has some experience with online leagues, but I think there's a few folks here who could help supplement that stuff. Him and I won't always need all areas of expertise as we can cover quite a bit between us, but knowing who a few "go to" people might be if we need them is certainly helpful.

does that extend to comic book-based games?

even though I don't collect GB stuff anymore, I feel like I'm pretty damn knowledgeable in that area. If that counts for anything?
