Tie Fighter by LucasArts is one of the best Star Wars games ever made, yet largely ignored by most modern gamers. This classic space combat sim lets you play as Emperor Palpatine's lap dog …and you'll love every minute of it! Damn those Rebel scum!
"You would prefer another target, a military target? Then name the system! I grow tired of asking this so it will be the last time: *Where* is the rebel base? "
Nice Review! Watching the video really wants me to setup DOS box and get some of my old games running on the Laptop, XWing Wars and Tie Fighter Wars. If you get a chance try playing DOS Inferno by Ocean and DID, a Space Simulation with some great music. The tunnel scene in your review reminded me of flying inside the enemy ship.
Tie Fighter is one of the few PC games in my collection as I am primarily a console gamer. I played it years ago and never finished it, but it was a game that held my attention for some time. I enjoyed it. I think I even purchased X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, but never put much time into it. I was always fascinated by those optional objectives in each stage. I tend to always want a game to ask more of me than just simply beating levels, so that was cool. It's good to see someone try and bring more attention to the game

HAHA! You noticed! Well, that was just to change it up a little bit... But I am working on a silly Outtakes video that will have TONS of headbanging in it. Oh yes. You will see me ROCK!
Dude! I found you on racketboy as well! Remember me from Pete's forum? What's up man! Now this is a review I must see and I will subscribe tonight I promise!

I used a modern Logitech Dual Action USB joystick when playing the game, and it worked well... provided you modify the DOSBOX config file as I outlined above.
