Anyone ever have to part with their collection cause poor?

Post by holaback »

I have a small collection of semi rare saturn us/japanese games that I threw in the for sale section was never planing selling cause at this moment I am broke as a joke but never planned on selling them.

I'm not a hardcore collector or anything but damn i never thought it would come down to this. Anyone ever have to part with games they didn't want to. Oh how I love my saturn! :(

BTW I love this site. I'm such a retro gamer! I'm not so feeling todays games like i was in the early to mid to late 90s.

Yeah, I needed money in college so I had to sell my MIB Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VI. It was a tough decision, but I was in between jobs with no dough whatsoever.

Not yet, no.

I get the feeling I'll need to sell everything, and I mean everything, if I move out of the country though. Or pass it along to my sis [ha!!].

I never had to sell the collection but in a time of dire need, I sold a Japanese Saturn and some JP games. Made some serious bank off of them but I wish that I didn't part with any of it... Of course with the exception of a few titles, I've bought back everything.

Oh yeah, I've sold off copies of games like Radiant Silvergun, multiple DS's, Panzer Dragoon Saga (one of which was the PAL version... dread)... and bulks of other games and consoles as well; I'm to tired to remember and list.

My collection has fluctuated from only a few hundred to a couple thousand, and back several times since the early 90's.

Combination of unemployed and moving....
Does that count?

I quit my job and went back to school across the country.
Had to get rid of a lot of stuff then...

The games I have are te games I want to keep, anything else get's traded or sold pronto. I haven't had to move console games or hardware to get out of a bind, but I did move some PCB's a year ago when got into a fender-bender and had no insurance. I sold older stuff like Alpha 1 and Darkstakers, SS3 and 4 to local friends, so I feel they are still "in the family".

with the exception of the NES/SNES/N64/GB systems and games my dad bought for me when i was a kid (too much sentimental value, lol), there's nothing in my collection that's I plan on keeping for life

95% of my collection can be found on amazon/ebay pretty commonly, so if i need the money, I'll sell it knowing that I could probably get it back later if I wanted to...
