It's weird to me that there is this site devoted to selling digital PC games and they are almost entirely different games than the ones on Steam (with some exceptions). Obviously, these aren't games meant for the typical gamer. I'm just wondering, who do these games appeal to?
I just did a Fandango deal where if you buy a game for $2.99 on Big Fish Games, you get a free movie ticket. If you're interested, you can do the same:

I hate their demo downloads, a browser of sorts. If anyone tries Rooms, please review it. Debating on the Wii version and found out its also on the PC.

Bored house wives, retirees and early elementary school kids. They're selling all the popular casual puzzlers and hidden object games as well as tons of games you can't lose but have many "trophies" to win - no keyboard involved either. I do computer repairs on the side so I can tell you that bit torrent sites have lots of infected BigFish, Popcap and Gamehouse games

I use GameHouse myself. Unlike BFG, there's no master application or browser to install. Prices are fair, membership prices are really fair. The more you participate on their site, the more coins you will earn, which you can spend on games.
I enjoy time management, match 3 & hidden object type games, and the amount of good, quality, replayable games would probably stun you if you think it's just for "casuals" (barf).

No different than WildTangent, always appearing on any HP computers I buy/use/work on. Another "browser" based casual gaming company.
Although I do have to say, I got a good 10-game pack out of them years ago for $90. And they made the awesome game FATE which reminded me of old school Castle Of The Winds. Blackhawk Striker 2 is also quite a serviceable shmup.

I ended up getting Drawn: Dark Flight. Have you played that? It was one of the few games familiar to me, though I later noticed that they have Casebook, which I've wanted to play.irixith wrote: I enjoy time management, match 3 & hidden object type games, and the amount of good, quality, replayable games would probably stun you if you think it's just for "casuals" (barf).
It's just sort of strange to me that games like these are almost completely separated from traditional gaming, though I guess I don't mind that. I find the graphics in a lot of these colorful casual games to be a bit too garish and hard to look at. I like the art style of some of the mystery/horror titles, though I usually find their text fonts to be ugly. They just seem like games meant for a different type of gamer than me and I'm curious about who really gets into this stuff and why. They don't even use the same kind of genre titles that we do. Everything is match 3, HOGs, room escape, and time management, which traditional gamers don't seem to acknowledge, or aren't even aware of. Since you seem to be on both sides of the gamer culture, what makes them different from us? And what determines if a game has crossover appeal, such as Plants VS Zombies, Peggle, or World of Goo.
