wow! thanks for all the cleaning tips! got the other carts working...just had to wiggle them a bit. Think the problem in the equation is my console! Still probably would be a good idea to give them all a good clean and get the labels nice and shiny!

Got some stuff today at the boot fair:

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Mega Drive - boxed and complete, great condition - £2
Trauma Centre: Under the Knife - DS - boxed and complete, decent condition - £3
Discworld Noir - PC - boxed and complete, great condition - £1
Game Boy Gallery - Game Boy - loose cartridge - £1

Not a terrible haul if I do say so myself. Glad to finally have a boxed copy of Sonic 2, seeing as I already have two loose cartridges. Trauma Centre seems like it was a decent deal, and I'm really happy with Discworld Noir for that price too. Game Boy Gallery is nothing special for £1, but it's nice to own.

Done a boot sale run today, got up quite late so was up against it.

The first one was packed and took a lot longer to get round than usual and I ran out of money before reaching the last stall :(
I decided to go to the cash machine and head to the second one.
Once there I realised I had missed most of the sellers and should of headed back to the first one. I did manage to find Doom for the PS1 for £1 though :)

I got these games for $10 from a local pawn shop:

.hack Part 4 is brand new/sealed, and a similar copy sold for $80+ on eBay yesterday. I am uninterested in adding that game to my collection; so, if anyone is interested in it, please send me a PM. (I would much rather sell/trade it to a Racketboy member than sell it on eBay.) In any event, I will add it to my trade list as soon as I get around to updating it.

And these two (slightly) more exciting ones:

Picked up this Dreamcast lot today via Craigslist:

Image

Boxed and the system itself is in like new condition (as are all of the games). Came with two controllers and 8 games - all sports games other than V8, Toy Commander, and Crazy Taxi (YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH).

Also came with 1 VMU, some controller extensions, a rumble pack, and a handy little Dreamcast branded carrying case.

Paid $45 for the lot.

Then went to the flea market in hopes of finding Soul Calibur or Powerstone, no luck. I did pick up:

2 more Dreamcast controllers - $5 a piece
1 VMU - $3
Bust-A-Move SNES - $8
Double Dragon NES w/ manual - $5

Got the guy to knock a couple bucks off so I paid $24 for all of that instead of $26 :P

:?: :? Just to clarify this wasn't me, but I did post Guides to fix it in the Guides section.

Try taking the PCB out of the cart housing. Then you can really attack it with some Lift Off. Take an eraser to the contacts while you have it apart.

He did have an email though - so I messaged him that I was interested in (3) of his PGM carts, if we setup a paypal goods deal - could he cut the difference on the ebay fee he would've paid. Sure nuff', that sounded good to him. So he sent me an invoice, I sent him money, he sent me these:

Oriental Legend Super

The Gladiator

The Killing Blade

My wife also picked me up a book as a nice surprise, so a pretty good day. I paid $40 under market and free ship.

Very nice! I didn't know you had an Arcade Cab. The Ultimate History Of Video Games is a great read, all kinds of interesting trivia in the pages.
