The only reason I'm still keeping my Wii.
The only reason I'm still keeping my Wii.
Pikmin 3
Animal Crossing Wii
F-Zero Wii
Custom Robo Wii
Kirby Wii
Star Fox Wii
Basically the point I'm trying to make is I'm only keeping my Wii because I know Nintendo has some nice hardcore gamer titles that I can look forward too, as long as they don't screw them up. Nintendo hasn't been on my good side recently, with all this casual gamer nonsense and "anyone can play" BS.
It really pisses me off that Nintendo has abandoned the fans who have been with them since the beginning. Hell if it wasn't for us Nintendo wouldn't still be in the market and they repay us by completely screwing us over.
If Nintendo doesn't clean up there act when the "Wii 2" comes out I might completely forget about them. First of all they need to keep up with the competition, I'm talking about a hard drive and HD. Of course we all know why they didn't put in these features, it would be cheaper and more affordable, even for the non-gamer (see a trend yet?). They also need to make their online better. No more friend codes and they need to add voice chat. Then if they can stop letting companies release these horrible 3rd party games I'll be happy.
Just needed to get that off my chest. Comments?

I agree with everything that you are saying. you are absolutely right about the crap, sometimes I need a compass and a internet enabled phone to find the good games through all this crap at the local game store, but you can't forget about the more hardcore games that Sega is bringing out. House of the dead returns, Nights, Samba De Amigo. If you just completely turn your back on these, then you are missing out on a lot.

First of all... if animal crossing wii is the hardcore game you're waiting for.... well don't get your hopes up.Kevman wrote:Pikmin 3

Secondly, I agree with you. I've been a Nintendo faithful since the day I was born. My family has owned every last Nintendo system since the nes... sans the virtual boy of course. Some of my earliest memories are playing pilot wings and super mario world for the first time. I bring my snes with me everywhere and never ever turn down an opportunity to play. Nintendo is the only reason why I am a hardcore gamer today, and I will still devote myself to their first party software and hardware 100% (seems like the only consoles that don't break these days).
Anyways, When the wii made it's way on top of the market I, like many of my Nintendo loving compatriots, celebrated that once again, the best company in console gaming could sit upon it's rightful throne at the top of the gaming industry. It was a real testament to the idea of Solid gameplay over graphics. Then E3 2007 stumbled along... and I waited for the big reveal. A new metroid? Maybe a new Kid Icarus? Maybe even a new IP? It turned out to be the latter... but not necessarily what I meant by it. Wii fit. Holy crap, the most hardcore of the three big names, nintendo, decided to spend two thirds of their e3 presentation on a fucking workout board. That was crap. Sure, they touched on the new mario kart, but it was at that moment that i realized that they had stopped caring about us. Casual gamers bring in the profits. Now we have the cocky response to the storage problem, where us hardcore patrons of the vc are mocked for our nostalgia, and nintendo is less of testament to the hardcore than ever before.
However, they still deliver. Brawl, galaxy, kart, and everything you just announced to me have brought my love for Nintendo back. As long as they are willing to not forget about us software wise and still revive the ips (even arguably the most hardcore of them all, f-zero) I will still be a devoted nintendo fan and place them above all over devs and consoles.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

... Sony/sega nerd. Seems like an oxymoron to me. You do realize that the ps2 is the reason why the dreamcast failed and subsequently stopped Sega's console escapades... right?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Welp on the off chance those fail get a nice old Playstation 3! Sorry Im a Sony/Sega nerd.

Perhaps it's not hardcore, but I love the series and it's one of the games that I will enjoy to see a sequel made.AwesomeMonstar wrote: First of all... if animal crossing wii is the hardcore game you're waiting for.... well don't get your hopes up.

... yeah... truth is I'd hate to say it but so do I... I don't know why I love to pick apples and do worthless tasks but the game has quite the hypnotic hold on you. Gotta pay off that debt....Kevman wrote:Perhaps it's not hardcore, but I love the series and it's one of the games that I will enjoy to see a sequel made.AwesomeMonstar wrote: First of all... if animal crossing wii is the hardcore game you're waiting for.... well don't get your hopes up.

Yes, that's great and all but point is, if you are a big enough fanboy to randomly flame a thread like this, then you should at least be faithful to one of the companies you devote yourself to.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:That doesnt mean I cant love both companies can I, sheesh you dont have to just pick ONE company, those are my 2 of choice, I love Sony, ive grown up w/ them but I love Sega's arcade style.AwesomeMonstar wrote:... I, too, have been a fan of Nintendo since as long as I can remember, but just because they are not putting out the most gamer-specific titles, it doesn't mean the products are bad. I've been having a good time playing Wii Fit; it may not be for everyone, but it's at least an interesting concept/design. They have put out a number of games oriented towards the "core" gamer like Mario Kart, Zelda, Fire Emblem, so I think it's a little too early to be writing them off as a loss. Plus, allegedly they have some big announcements at E3 this year...
