(intentionally misleading title.)
So my friend and I are at a new game store yesterday and he picks up a copy of Herzog Zwei and there's a "P" written on both the cart label and the front of the manual. I then hear him call his friend and say: "Dude! I picked up a Herzog Zwei with a 'P' on it! It must have been your copy!" (apparently his friend sold a copy not too long ago with a "P" on it, but not to the same game store we were at)
...But later that night I'm going through my Genesis games and noticed my copy of Shining in the Darkness had been P'd on!
Anyone else encounter this mysterious "P" on Genesis games/manuals?
Anyone able to shed some light on this P-nomenon?

Yeah, EB Games, Babbages, & Gamestops all did this to signify preowned games. Other stores may have done it also, but these are the ones I know about.

Ohhhh I see now. I had been wondering about this in an earlier thread. I have a few PS1 games with the dreaded P both on disc and manual. Better than pee, I suppose.

My copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day wasn't just P'd, it was PPG 29047'd.
I could probably remove the marker if I wasn't lazy.

Seller: Hmm... what could I do to help lower the value of my merchandise as well as drive away potential buyers?
"P!", "P!", "P!", "Stock Number!", "Random Scribble", "Hole-punch!", "Peeeeee!"

Buyers, please stop rewarding sellers who do this!

Derailing time!
I had cat actually pee on one of my games.
In the summertime a few years ago some stray cat that hung around my house got into my room thru an open window. But then got lost in the crazyness of my room.
When I got home, the cat saw me and just meowed. It wasnt really feral and it sometimes allowed itself to be touched.
so I opened my door and shooed it out the front door.
Not untill a few days later The room smelled a little funny and I cleaned/moved stuff around and found some poop.
Dammit.
And then I found my copy of We {Heart} Katamari on the floor. It was sticky and stinky. Days old cat pee had stickyfied itself on my case
! It penetrated the paper and was all but useless now. Thankfully the game and the manual were safe.
But I now have a copy of katamari in a generic DVD case.
That damn cat!
