DMC 4

Post by Gamerforlife »

So I had a thread going about NG 2 and how I was interested in checking out. Well, it's been impossible for me to find a copy to rent so I rented out DMC 4 instead. First impressions are good, this is MUCH more accesible than previous installments, not counting DMC 2 of course(spits on the ground) The game gives you time to get a feel for combat and learn how your enemies attack and the first two or three bosses are pretty manageable. I like Nero, easier and I think even more fun to play for than Dante was in DMC 3. Actually, control seems just slightly more fluid in this one. Maybe it's just because Nero plays differently than Dante. Personality wise, he seems like DMC 1 Dante.

The cutscenes are hit and miss. Some action sequences are very cool, while others are completely ridiculous to the point of being laughable. Typical DMC I guess. Performances are really good though I must say. Great voice acting, and Dante seems cooler than he's ever been in any of the previous games. It's like Nero is what Dante was, while Dante himself has become even more cool and badass than he was before.

I got about 8 levels in, and I've been getting B ranks and one A rank. Not sure if I'll finish it before I bring it back, but this game seems like it'll go on my "games to eventually buy" list.

Oh, and I'm playing on normal difficulty if anyone is wondering. And for the record, I'm not a DMC pro, though I have beaten DMC 1 and somehow managed to survive DMC 3(thank god for items). Normal difficulty seems fairly easy so far to me, unlike the tough normal difficulty in DMC 3. I'm not exactly complaining though. I think this time around, they saved the real challenges for the higher difficulties to give other players a chance
