Best stick games besides shooters and fighters

Post by chupon »

So I've got four nice arcade sticks now - 2 for PS3 and 2 for 360 but all I use them for are shooters and fighters.

What else do you love to use your sticks on? I imagine there must be some great platformers, puzzle, or beat'em ups. What else should I be using my sticks for?

personally I do think beatemups work great with sticks. And there's plenty of good beatemups on PSN/XBLA -- Simpsons Arcade, X-Men, Scott Pilgrim, etc.

Rayman Origins: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 63#p567763

I found the Arcade Stick works very well on Wii Rayman Origins, the best way to clear the mountain level. The PS3 and 360 versions should have similar results.

Hit Arcade compilation discs, you might find some there too.

Well it's not PS3 or 360 but...

NES games that require diagonals for jumping. I don't play them with anything but my arcade stick now. I jump consistently using the stick. With the controller I died half of the time because I failed to press the old Dpad just right.

Yeah I rocked the NES Advantage for years growing up. Even played through Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy with it.

Ton's of games now just aren't stick compatible. Maybe I'll give Rayman a chance.

Maybe I need to go pop my PS2 Taito Legends 2 disk into my 60GB PS3!

PS3 sticks don't work on PS2 games.

Oooh crap that bites. I see a mod that needs to done to one of the sticks.

@ chupon - What are the model numbers? They may support some games you may not be aware of. For example, the Wii Tatsunko Capcom Arcade stick supports the Analog and DPads of Classic Controllers. A simpler mod allows Twinstck capability for Geometry Wars. Maybe your Arcade sticks might support some analog stick controlled games?

to clarify, only Dualshock and a very small handful of any other controllers work on PS2 games on PS3.

I don't know how well it would work, but I've always wanted to play Super Meat Boy with a stick.

That's why on the 7th day God created third-party controller adapters. 8)
