How did I forget about Joust. Id love to have a Joust, Joust Pinball, and a Joust 2. Skeeball is great, but the good ones are 10 feet long, and they look lonely by themselves, you need atleast 2. Luckily, they are cheap because they are big and awkward

Re: Which arcades would you get if you had money and space?
If they actually existed, I'd get a Polybius cabinet, just for the fun of it. Of all arcade cabinets that I'd get that actually exist, above all others? Computer Space. Ideally a green one. I will have one someday, likely way into the future when I have the money and space for one. More realistically, a Neo Geo cabinet will be acquired, given their relatively comon availability. I'd of course get a multi-cart for it.
Beyond those two, the only other arcade cabinets I'd get are one for Star Castle, as this guy did:

and a cabinet of the (apparently Japan only) Cave/Jaleco game Uo Poko.

I fully agree. No matter how many controllers I break in frustration, I beat the game first. After I master it, out comes the Game Genie.Gamerforlife wrote:I've never understood how a player could be satisfied with that. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to try and beat games like that on one life or at least one credit, even when I was a kid I was like that. I mean beating a game with tons of quarters is no accomplishment. It's no better than beating a console game with cheats turned on. The replay value comes in mastering the game, assuming you even can. That's why I put so many hours into a lot of 16-bit titles back in the day. It was never enough to just win. Now you have to blow through the game on one life, then you had to do it without taking any damagethe King wrote:General_Norris wrote:
Since cabs take so much space and it takes so much effort to clean and repair electronics from 30 years ago I don't think it would make much sense to get cabs for games that don't have an amazing replay value. Sure, Marble Madness is great but very short and sooner or later I would get bored of it.
This is key right here. As much as someone would say they want a TMNT cab, once you can play through it with unlimited quarters it gets old fast.
I've always been obsessed with finessing a game. It's not enough just to beat it, you have to make it look good too. Beating an arcade game with twenty quarters doesn't look good
I would choose these:
Simpsons 4 Player
Superman
TMNT 4 Player
Xmen 6 Player
Thing's that I'm looking for at the moment: Super Mario RPG manual(SNES), Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals map and cart(SNES), The King of Dragons Box and manual(SNES), Lufia and the fortress of doom CIB(SNES), Earthbound CIB(SNES), EVO: The Search for Eden CIB(SNES), Harvest Moon CIB(SNES), Mario Paint CIB(SNES), Bomberman Party Pak With Super Multitap(SNES), DoReMi Fantasies CIB(SFC).

lol, I'm just the opposite. When I've tried way too many times to beat a game, and just can't no matter how hard I try. Then the Game Genie comes out to party.TrevorF wrote: I fully agree. Something I can't just emulate. I don't see the point of buying a cab for hundreds of dollars if I can get the exact same experience in MAME. So either the moving sit-down After Burner/Space Harrier/Outrun, some light gun games, Taito 3-screen games, or pinball.
