Adventure games

Post by Licky »

I'm planning to buy a ds, and seeing I really like adventure games I would like to know which of this games are present on this platform
I already know and played all the three phoenix wright and apollo justice games, hotel dusk and another code on the ds I borrowed from my friend, other than the ones I played are there other types of games like those on the ds?

There is a port of ScummVM for the DS, but I can't yet tell you how good it is. If it is decent, you can probably run a bunch of older adventure games on it.

It is a totally decent port. The DS doesn't have the cojones to run the higher end games for ScummVM, but from The Dig on down, basically, you're golden.

The first Broken Sword title is on GBA.

But I'd really avoid it.

How does the SCUMM port actually work on the DS? The screen size doesn't seem like it'd work too well for a adventure game...

And more on topic, I think there's a Myst port and a few others but not much else comes to mind since I don't actually have a DS.

Here is an interview with one of the guys behind it.

Stay away from Myst at all costs. It is a broken port. Instead of hovering with the mouse and having items auto-highlight, you end up stabbing EVERYTHING with the stylus until something happens. Stab stab stab stab, apparently it gets very frustrating....of course this is just from reviews I've read!

There's always Phoenix Wright 1,2,3 and Apollo Justic, Not necessarily adventure games as in the point and click variety but close enough if you want a decent story to 'interact' with. There's also Another Code, that's quite a good little adventure game.

Hotel Dusk is another one. Be warned though, I had to start my game again because I missed something right at the beginning and found it was impossible to progress.

Castlevania games aren't adventure games. They're platformers, some of them with action-RPG elements.
