Persona series since Persona 2

Post by WalterCronkite »

I used to love Persona 1 when I played PS1 but Persona 2 is one of my favorite games of all time but I hate how long it takes to level up...

The newer Personas look more trendy and less rpg-ish. Are they worth the time?

They're generally quite good. Bare in mind that some of the more recent ones are rather long. They're still great fun, but be prepared in some cases for games that will run you a good 70-80 hours play time, perhaps more if you like taking your time. Not necessarily a bad thing, but good to know if you're thinking of getting some of the PS2 installments for instance.

I felt like Persona 3 would never in. After a good 80 hours I just quit. Not a bad game, but I do believe there is a such a thing as too long. :P

Hell. Yes. The newer Persona games retain all the demon-fusing action, and the press-turn battle system is genius.

Persona doesn't use press-turn, it uses one-more. It's similar in that you care about exploiting enemy weakness and protecting your own, but the way it plays out is quite different.

Alright, sure. The payoff in Persona is the free rush attack for knocking down all of your opponents by exploiting weaknesses, as opposed to gaining (or losing) turns in Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne.

Even after googling, I've never heard the former referred to as "one-more," but I'll make sure to note your terminology.
