Successful ISO Burn of Snatcher Plays but loses sound

Post by realm720 »

So I absolutely love this game and am playing it for the first time. I downloaded the ISO and made a cue sheet and burned it using Alcohol 120 to play on my sega cd system. Everything about the game runs flawlessly except the larger cutscenes in the game (Intro, End of Act 1, etc...) have no sound. Occasionally a correct noise will sound for an item, but thats it in the cutscenes. What am I doing wrong? Speech and music works in all the other sections. Is there a burning setting that is off? Is my download bad to begin with? Help please!!!!!! I want to play this the way it was meant to be played. Thanks.

It might be because the cutscenes are using actual CD Audio. Do you have a sound cable going from your CD-rom to your motherboard? When I burned some TurboCD games a while back, the game and sound effects would be fine but there would be no music. I found I was missing this cable. Once installed, everything worked fine.

Also, if you don't have this cable, see if your CD-rom has a headphone jack and if the audio comes out of that.

What happens if you mount your CD image as opposed to burning it?
